Tattoo treatments to remove, hide and reconstruct
You’ll be amazed at the range and purpose of our tattoo treatments here at Changes Clinic in Portsmouth. Not only can we remove and cover old, unwanted cosmetic tattoos, we can use medical tattooing to camouflage and even reconstruct. Our aim is to help our clients regain confidence and be proud of their body.
Our medical tattoo treatments are extremely specialised and use important techniques. Changes Clinic resident Award Winning Expert Naomi O’Hara has over 17 years’ experience in Permanent Makeup and Medical Tattoos.
We’re proud to offer several types of treatment:
Medical tattooing
Medical tattooing is a very versatile treatment. Using the same technique as permanent makeup, tattoo pigment (ink colour) is inserted into the skin promoting colour change as well as naturally encouraging collagen production.
Medical tattooing is popular in being used to cover scars such as a cleft lip or even alopecia. It can also be used to reconstruct the areola (nipple) following mastectomy (breast surgery) and can also disguise unwanted tattoos with a skin-coloured cover-up.
Naomi is a national trainer for medical tattooing (she trains nurses at The Royal Marsden Hospital). Watching her work with a variety of pigments to recreate areola, or matching skin colour is like watching an artist at work. Her results are amazing – even producing 3D effects with areola!
The tattoo pigment used will alter the appearance of your skin so our experienced practitioners will talk you through the process, to ensure you know what it entails and the results you can expect.
Tattoo Removal
Unwanted tattoos can be safely reduced, if not removed using a laser. This breaks up the ink particles, which are then absorbed by the body and eventually fade away.
An alternative to this is a non-laser tattoo removal method, in which the ink pigments are extracted. Administered like the original tattoo, removal fluid is applied with a tattoo gun or permanent makeup machine. The then thickened substance forms a crust that falls away, taking the ink with it. The process is repeated until the desired effect is achieved.
Depending on the colours used in your tattoo, a combination of both treatments may be the most successful course of action.
Semi permanent make-up
Also in our tattoo treatment portfolio is semi-permanent makeup. Permanent makeup is the art of applying tattoo ink (pigment) to replicate the look of makeup. Our award-winning experts can apply long-lasting eyeliner, augment thin lips and fill out sparse eyebrows, as per your specifications.
Semi-permanent makeup is a cosmetic procedure that can transform and enhance your natural appearance. PMU and microblading is one of our most popular treatments and can bring out the best in your brows.
