Changes Clinic are proud to work in partnership with Ziering medical, offering state of the art hair transplant within our clinic that has exceeded the expectations of our patients and surgeons!
Within a recent news article published in the Aesthetics monthly journal, a plastic surgeon in Ankara, Turkey has suggested a new theory for male pattern baldness…gravity!
Dr Emin Tuncay Ustuner, whose research is published in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, has said that the baldness that men encounter is due to gravity, i.e. the weight of the scalp on hair follicles.
This is in opposition to it being genetically inherited or due to hormones. He states that fat tissue keeps hair follicles well-hydrated, and as men age, fat disappears, causing their hair to fall out. He also says that declining levels of testosterone contribute to the decrease of scalp fat. He explains that the shape of the head can affect hair loss patterns, as different shapes will assert different scalp pressures. He states that ears resist the effects of gravity on the scalp, meaning hair loss around the sides of the head is reduced.
Robbie Williams recently revealed his full head of hair is down to a recent hair transplant and he’s not alone, many celebrities including Declan Donnelly and Wayne Rooney have undergone the exact same surgery we carry out her at Changes Clinic.
