Posted by: Kim Way Catagory: skin tag

Skin tags can appear anywhere on the body but don’t worry, they are not harmful or cancerous!  They generally appear in areas where skin has rubbed against skin and the average size is quite small.  You may find you have just the odd one or a lot in a certain area: underarms, groin, round bra straps, around the neck where collars rub?  Some people are more prone to skin tags than others.

Although they’re not dangerous they can be extremely annoying!  If they occur on your face then you may want them removed for cosmetic reasons.

Unfortunately, due to the majority of skin tags causing little discomfort, there are few GPs who will actually have the time or resource to remove them on the NHS.

So how much is it to remove a skin tag?  Cost of treatments is very affordable and usually based on the time taken.  Typically for a few tags it will be around £60.  If you have a lot, then it could be as much as £180.  Eye areas can be more complicated and may need specialist practitioners.  The first step would be to consult your GP and if they can’t help, call us to book you in for a consultation with our specialist practitioner.

Most skin tags are removed relatively easily by severing and cauterising with advanced electrolysis or simply snipping.
