Aqualyx® is an injectable, gel-based solutions which dissolves fat and is biocompatible and biodegradable. This fat injection is suitable for patients who do not want the more invasive liposuction or Laser Lipo treatments. Combined with ultra sonic cavitation using our Promax Lipo technology intensifies drainage, allowing the fluids to be carried away more easily by the lymphatic system.
Regular exercise and a healthy diet don’t always work to budge fat from stubborn areas. We often want to budge fat from an area that just doesn’t seem to want to go! The cause for this lies within our genetics and the special structure of our fat cells in certain areas. Our body naturally stores fat in order to supply energy in times of restraint. Fat cells located in the subcutaneous fat tissue are difficult to diminish, as only their contents and overall volume can be altered, but not the fat cells themselves. These particular fat cells cannot be reduced and continuously serve as a reliable depot for the body to store fat.
Aqualyx® fat injections can be used to reduce your localised, stubborn in areas including the chin & neck, stomach, outer and inner thighs, arms, love handles, saddle bags, etc.

Questions you may have
WHAT IS AQUALYX ?
Aqualyx therapy is a fat dissolving injection treatment that gives a safe and effective permanent reduction of fat.
It is ideally used in those hard to target problem areas, where there are small pockets of fat despite a healthy lifestyle.
It is generally seen as a second choice to Liposuction and Coolsculpting.
WHICH AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED WITH AQUALYX?
The most popular areas are:
- WAIST AND LOVE HANDLES
- UPPER ARMS
- HIPS AND THIGHS
- SADDLE BAGS
- DOUBLE CHIN
WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT AQUALYX?
Our doctors will answer all your questions during a personal consultation and consider whether a treatment with AQUALYX is advisable.
HOW MANY TREAMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
The number of treatments varies according to the dimensions of the fat depot and your reactions.
HOW IS THE TREATMENT WITH AQUALYX CONDUCTED?
Using thin, flexible cannulas, AQUALYX is injected directly into the subcutaneous fat tissue. The treatment is virtually pain free, as fat tissue is almost free of sentience and AQUALYX contains an additional local anaesthetic. Followed by ultrasonic cavitation which intensifies drainage, allowing the fluids to be carried away more easily by the lymphatic system.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE TREATMENT?
Immediately after the injection the affected area may redden and swell to a slight degree. These are expected side effects that abate within a couple of days after the treatment.
HOW DOES AQUALYX WORK?
AQUALYX contains desoxycholan-acid, a secondary bile acid. With the assistance of bacteria our body is able to produce this acid itself in the liver in order to aid the digestion of fat.
The fat-dissolving effect of this acid was utilised by Prof. Pasquale Motolese, the inventor of AQUALYXTM, who developed a synthetically manufactured variant.
The active substance locks on to the fat cell walls and starts to operate, resulting in the cell wall becoming instable and releasing the fatty acid that is stored within.
Cell residue is removed by the body’s defences and the non-attached fatty acids are metabolised and converted into energy.
WHAT SHOULD I PAY ATTENTION TO AFTER TREATMENT WITH AQUALYX?
Do not apply any cosmetics onto the treated area within the following 12 hours and avoid all direct sources of heat and radiation (sunlight, UV-radiation, sauna etc.).
You should abstain from particularly demanding physical exercise for 7 days.
As the fatty acids are converted into additional energy, it is especially important that you keep a strict and healthy diet; otherwise your body will simply store the fat in an alternative fat depot.
WHEN IS THE TREAMENT WITH AQUALYX NOT RECOMMENDED?
AQUALYX is not recommended when the patient is suffering from acute or chronic skin diseases in the affected area.
For safety reasons all patients with a medical history including anaphylactic reactions, severe allergies, severe organic or physical illnesses, autoimmune diseases or diabetes, as well as women who are pregnant or during lactation are excluded from any treatment with AQUALYX.
How Much Will I Pay?
Prices vary, depending on areas. Consultation is recommended to be able to receive a quote.
Changeplan is a monthly pre-payment plan allowing you to spread the cost of your treatment, enabling you to look and feel great whilst budgeting with plastic surgery on finance! Non-surgical treatments to improve the look and feel of your skin are some of the most popular. You are an individual whose needs will differ from others, meaning the regularity of your visits to us for treatment needs to be assessed by our practitioners.
Treatments can be funded through our finance provider Pay4Later and will be assessed for credit on an individual basis. Credit is subject to status to UK residents aged 18 years or over.
