For some years now, Botox has been the most popular non-surgical ‘facelift’ treatments with over one million users currently in the UK every year.
Popularity has grown with the ever-smooth face of the celebrities and stars we are accustomed to seeing on our screens, demonstrating the benefits of this anti-aging procedure with tight, wrinkle free faces.
So, where can you have Botox? I have heard of friends being invited to Botox parties, friends who have had treatment carried out at their local hair salon, or some who pop in for injections with their local dentist.
Botulinum toxin A is in fact a muscle relaxing drug, used in a variety of medical applications with the toxin being used in tiny doses for very effective use to smooth our wrinkles.
But wouldn’t you want to know that the person carrying out treatment on your face is medically qualified and experienced to treat. After all, with any treatment there are risks. So, if you’re looking for wrinkle injections using botulinum toxin A (commonly known as Botox) by far the best place is within a Clinic or location specifically set up for the procedure, where you:
- know that you are being treated by a doctor or prescriber who is registered to administer the drug and will ask you medical questions to ensure you are a good candidate for treatment
- you want a great results so you want a practitioner who is doing this as their main job, who has been treating patients for a long time
- are aware of the product that is being used: only reputable products such as Botox, Azzulure or Bocouture have enough data to reassure you that are relatively low risk to side effects
- the amount of product and dilution is correct in order to give you a great result that is lasting.
There is more chance of you being left with a temporary eye droop or short lived result than of anything more sinister, but it’s your face, why risk it at all!!
